Got Drum Lessons?

Tired of boring instructors? How about uninspiring lectures about drummers you don't know? And when was the last time your instructor actually listened to the same music you do??

This is what sets drum set lessons with Chris apart from the rest.

Yes, technique is important. Everyone knows that. But why is it important? Say, for example, you want to play like Travis Barker, Steve Gadd, or Bernard Purdie. Each of these great drummers has techniques that set them apart from each other, and from everyone else. Chris will show you how to groove like "Pretty" Purdie, how to explode like Gadd, and how to think like Barker in every lesson. And if that isn't enough, you'll have a great time doing it!

Whether a beginner or a seasoned professional, Chris can help you get to the next level.

Typical lessons are given through Wood Brothers Music in Pittsfield, MA. These lessons include a 45 minute one-on-one with Chris, where students will be presented with as much information as they can handle once a week. Lessons focus on a wide range of topics. Every student will learn drum set techniques as well as hand percussion techniques. Rudimental studies are important for every player, every genre. Musicians can't communicate efficiently without reading and writing score. These topics and more will be covered in depth every week. The only equipment they need to bring with him or her is a pair of drum sticks, a notebook, and a positive attitude. Students are encouraged to bring CD's or iPods as well, as they will be learning from the music they actually listen to! Rates vary with skill level. All payment is due at the time of the lesson.
